Repair terms & pricing

Effective 26 October 2026. All amounts are in Australian dollars. These terms do not exclude, restrict or modify your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

1. Service rates & billing

Minimum fee: $90 per item. This includes the booking fee and first hour of professional diagnosis and/or repair. Online bookings pay this fee upfront; walk-in bookings pay at equipment drop-off. A fee already paid online is not charged again at drop-off. Warranty claims are excluded from this initial fee and must be arranged with the workshop separately.

Additional labour: $110 per hour after the first hour, billed in 30-minute increments of $55. Replacement parts and courier or freight charges are additional, subject to the repair authorisation below.

2. Payment & collection

Online booking fees are paid by card through Stripe. At the workshop we accept cash, credit cards, EFTPOS, bank transfer and PayID. Applicable card surcharges will be disclosed before payment.

Bank transfer and PayID funds must be received and cleared in our account before equipment can be collected. Outstanding repair charges are payable before collection.

For paid online bookings, a confirmation is emailed to the customer and workshop once payment is verified. Stripe is supplied with the customer's email address for the payment receipt. If your receipt or confirmation does not arrive, check your junk folder and contact repairs@djrm.au before attempting another payment.

3. Estimates & diagnostics

We may provide an initial estimate based on external testing and experience with similar repairs. This is indicative, not a fixed quote. Internal diagnosis requires billable bench time and may reveal additional faults or costs.

The final cost depends on the work required, but we will not exceed your agreed repair limit without obtaining your approval first. If you do not approve an increase, we will pause further work; authorised diagnostic work already performed remains payable.

4. Your repair authorisation

For each item booked online, your additional repair limit is on top of the $90 booking fee. It covers all further charges for that item, including labour, parts and any agreed freight or courier charges. It is an authorisation only and is not charged at checkout.

For example, a $220 additional limit authorises a maximum total of $310 including the $90 booking fee. A $0 additional limit means we must contact you before incurring any extra charges.

We will obtain your approval before exceeding the agreed limit. If we cannot reach you, we will pause work that would exceed your limit. Walk-in and other bookings have their repair authorisation agreed with the workshop.

5. Turnaround times & replacement parts

Timeframes depend on the fault, current workshop workload and parts availability. We can provide a clearer estimate after physically assessing your equipment. Although we stock many common and discontinued components, externally sourced parts may extend turnaround times.

Equipment over ten years old that is no longer supported by its manufacturer may require additional billable time to locate and verify obsolete components or suitable substitutes. This work remains subject to your agreed repair limit.

Special-order parts costing more than $400 may require an upfront deposit or progress payment before ordering. We will discuss this with you first; a deposit is a payment towards the agreed repair, not permission to exceed your limit.

We aim to use original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts. If these are unavailable, we may use suitable brand-new alternatives within your authorisation. We will notify you in advance if a refurbished or second-hand part is proposed.

6. Drop-offs, collections & delivery

Our workshop is at 4/16 Industry Boulevard, Carrum Downs VIC 3201. Drop-off and collection hours are Tuesday to Friday, 10:30am-6pm, and Saturday, 11am-4pm. Call ahead for collection so we can ensure your equipment is ready.

Contact us to discuss pickup or courier arrangements. Delivery and handling costs are additional and must be agreed as part of your repair authorisation. You may arrange your own boxed freight through Australia Post or an independent courier, including Transdirect.

For local point-to-point transport, a rideshare service may be an option if the provider accepts your equipment. Confirm suitability, handling, packaging and cover with the provider before booking.

Pack all courier shipments adequately to prevent transit damage. We recommend arranging appropriate transit insurance and checking the carrier's cover and exclusions. These recommendations do not limit any rights or remedies available under Australian Consumer Law.

Questions about your repair or these terms? Email repairs@djrm.au or call 03 8376 7771. Rates may change for future bookings; confirm current pricing with the team. Changes do not override an agreed authorisation for existing work.
